After Ana Maria had already ended the relationship, her abusive ex discovered where she was living, entered her home and again became physically violent. Ana Maria bundled up her newborn child and fled, too afraid to return or disclose her new location to anyone.
Her landlord assumed abandonment of property and filed a formal eviction against her.
New Hope provided Ana Maria and her baby with emergency shelter and individualized support services, including legal guidance to overcome the eviction on her record. Today, Ana Maria and her child are safely housed, with a lease in her name that she can afford.
