Emily Barbosa

Lead Preschool Teacher

Emily Barbosa grew up in Canada, spent a couple of years living in Portugal, and earned a degree in music education before moving to Bloomington in 2015 with her one-eyed cat Charlie. Once here, she earned both a master’s degree and Ph.D. in music theory at Indiana University. Throughout high school and college, Emily spent a lot of time working with children in afterschool programs and teaching music lessons. She's taught a number of college classes at IU over the years, but much prefers teaching and hanging out with all the kids at New Hope Early Learning Center.
