Beginning Monday, October 19, the Indiana Housing and Community Development Association (IHCDA) Rental Assistance Program online application portal is reopening for Hoosiers who need financial support due to lost income during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As the new Homelessness Prevention Coordinator at New Hope for Families, Tessa Newton works with families that qualify for Indiana's Rental Assistance Funding program to avoid eviction and stay in their home.

The most effective method to fight homelessness is to prevent people from becoming homeless in the first place.

Through the dedicated efforts of several local agencies (including New Hope), many volunteers, and individual donations, an emergency shelter for homeless families and individuals suspected of being ill with the coronavirus has been established in Bloomington.

We were pleased to accept a recent donation of 30 educational play kits made by students at The Project School / Bloomington Project School for the children we serve.

We are so grateful to be awarded a $50,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Bloomington and Monroe County's Community Impact Funding Initiative!

All of the children and parents we serve will be warmer and safer this winter thanks to a generous donation of more than 40 coats and more than 200 hats, scarves, and gloves from Tri North Middle School's YES Club.
