Turning Lemons into Hope
As part of Lemonade Day in Monroe County on Saturday, June 24, 2023, 11-year-old Annelise Dilger operated a lemonade stand on the B-Line Trail. She had already decided that the proceeds would go to New Hope for Families. A few days later, Annelise arrived at our office to present the $37.85 she had collected from her labor.
Annelise became interested in New Hope through a 4th-grade assignment while a student at Binford Elementary School. In her 2022 essay, Annelise wrote:
New Hope has the best care for families. They want to help families through hard times. As you can see, new hope really does have good child care, a good welcoming for the families, and gives children education. New hope has helped families for ten years and wants to help more. If you want to help families who don’t have a home or shelter, you should support New Hope.
Congratulations to Annelise for the success of her business and thank you for your generous support of New Hope for Families and the clients we serve.
